Curiosity cube

Stepping Stones news

Our curiosity box has been encouraging lots of lovely language from the children! What , Where, Why and who ? Can you recognise the popular story being discussed this week ?

Strawberry fun

This week the children went to Secretts to pick strawberries and came back with a lovely selection.
We had fun back at nursery making our own pots of strawberry jam and blending the strawberries to make fresh strawberry ice lollies.

Home learning tip

Go strawberry picking with your family and you can talk about lots of mathematical concepts- how many ? Can you add one more ? If you eat one you have one less ? Estimate how many are in your pot .

Coffee morning Wednesday 26th June

Wednesday 26th June we are holding a coffee morning in the hall for all current parents. 2pm in the hall.

There will also be an informal chat to discuss school readiness and what you can do to help prepare your child for school.

Home learning tip of the week

Home learning tip : woodland fairy wings.
You don’t need expensive costumes to develop your child’s imagination all you need is two sticks, string and wild flowers.
Encouraging imaginative play supports the development of language and creative skills.
Enjoy some time this weekend gathering sticks with your child, we love making things with sticks when our children go out on their woodland adventures each week at Stepping Stones.

Home learning tip of the week

Home learning tip: playing  games that use sounds can help develop your child’s the skills required for reading?
At Stepping Stones we have home learning sacks and home learning cards you can borrow to use at home. If your interested in finding out more just ask a member of the team.

Outdoor learning sessions

The children have been going out and about this term on Tuesdays and Thursdays going into the woods and around Milford. Please see the woodland adventures and outdoor learning section of the website for more details.

Christmas nativity

Christmas Nativity

Our nativity is on Wednesday 19th December at 9:30am. All children are invited to take part in this event. We will be soon letting you know what part your child will play on the day so please let us know if you are aware that your child is unable to participate.

We normally allow parents and carers to take photographs and videos at the nativity for personal use only. If you have any reason why you would prefer that we do not allow any photography please contact Karen or Debbie as soon as possible.
